HPL (High Pressure Laminate) is a durable and versatile composite material used in multiple design and construction applications. It is produced by joining layers of kraft paper impregnated with phenolic resin and one or more top layers of decorative paper impregnated with melamine resin. These layers are then pressed and heated at high temperatures and pressures, creating a very hard and dense laminate.
In a nutshell, HPL is therefore a popular choice for many architectural, furniture (particularly in hospitals, gyms, medical offices, clean rooms and even in professional kitchens) and design projects due to its resistance to water, moisture and fire. HPL panels, and consequently the products and applications in which they are used, are easy to clean and versatile in terms of design and aesthetics, as well as sustainable.
