Plasterboard, also known as coated gypsum or “drywall,” is a widely used construction material for interior walls and ceilings. It consists of a core of gypsum, a soft, sedimentary material, enclosed between two layers of paper. Gypsum board has become a standard in residential and commercial construction because of its versatility, ease of installation and low cost. Plasterboard panels are also fire-resistant, provide good sound insulation, and are both economical and recyclable.
