"The Ranger CNC has transformed our operations. It allowed us to achieve the precision and speed we needed. Our team finds it incredibly easy to use, and the results speak for themselves—this machine was definitely the right choice for us."
Mr Leonardo Toniolo, Bauhaus Box Owner
Bauhaus Box, located in Vicenza, Italy, is a company specialized in producing customized, high-quality flight cases. Operating in so many different industries, including music, military, and aerospace, Bauhaus Box designs and manufactures flight cases tailored to their customer’s specific needs, ensuring durability and protection of valuable equipment.
The issue we focused on for our customer “Bauhaus Box” was their manufacturing workflow, particularly improving speed, precision, and productivity. The company faced a significant challenge: despite having a skilled workforce, their production relied heavily on manual processes, which were time-consuming and made it difficult to scale. Additionally, they needed a solution to accommodate the varying sizes and types of cases they manufacture, all while maintaining their high standards of quality.
To resolve these issues, we provided Bauhaus Box with a “Ranger”, our CNC Panel Router with Vertical Table. This machine was specifically designed to fit within their available space while offering enhanced precision and speed in production. The vertical design not only saved valuable floor space but also allowed operators easier access to components, simplifying the loading and unloading processes. The machine’s advanced software enabled seamless transitions between different materials and processes, allowing for the production of a wide variety of case types without the need for constant manual adjustments.
We also made several customizations to the CNC to better meet the work process of Bauhaus Box. For example, the enhanced vacuum holding system ensured that materials remained firmly in place during machining, improving both accuracy and safety. The addition of efficient dust collection systems made it easier for operators to keep the workspace clean and meet planned productivity.
In terms of success metrics, Bauhaus Box saw a 30% increase in production efficiency within the first year of implementing the new system. This improvement allowed them to handle larger volumes of orders while maintaining the quality they are known for. Moreover, they were able to double the number of processed flight cases, reducing production time significantly, which in turn helped them meet tight client deadlines more effectively.
An additional benefit was the ease of programming the Ranger CNC. This allowed Bauhaus Box to train new operators quickly and reduce the learning curve for complex production tasks. Moreover, the machine’s software also enabled material optimization, which reduced waste and led to cost savings both for the company and its clients. This flexibility in handling different projects, combined with reduced setup time, allowed Bauhaus Box to adapt quickly to market demands.
From this experience, we learned that tailored solutions are essential when addressing the specific challenges of a company like Bauhaus Box. By listening our customers to meet their space constraints and production needs, we were able to help them streamline their processes without compromising on quality. This project also reinforced the importance of flexibility in design, ensuring that our solutions can evolve alongside the client’s growing demands. So, we will continue to focus on delivering scalable and adaptable solutions to help our clients optimize their operations and achieve long-term success.
