Aluminium swarf and delicate surfaces: how the CNC Ranger cleans the worktable during loading
The rotating brush on the CNC Ranger with Loader + Feeder cleans the worktable while loading the next panel. No scratches on the panel, no pause for the operator.
Anyone working with ACM, Dibond, painted or anodised solid aluminium knows the problem well. During machining, fine and sharp aluminium swarf remains on the spoil board. If it becomes embedded in the MDF, it scratches the surface of the panel loaded right after. On painted or very delicate surfaces, it’s a defect that leaves no margin.
Traditional loading systems come from the furniture industry, where almost all the swarf is extracted and, not being sharp, doesn’t damage the next panel. With aluminium the situation is different: the swarf is heavier and cutting, and it poses a real challenge for load automation.
The solution: cleaning during loading
The CNC Ranger with Loader + Feeder features a rotating brush that cleans the worktable precisely while loading the next panel. The machine’s vertical worktable and chip extraction system ensure effective removal, and the motorised brushing runs across the full height and length of the surface, efficiently clearing swarf from the spoil board.
The benefits
- Worktable cleaning during the loading of the next panel, with no downtime
- Motorised brushing across the entire vertical worktable surface
Thanks to the automatic cleaning, the operator no longer needs to stop to clean the worktable or check whether it’s ready for the next panel. The result is a saving in time and effort, and a concrete increase in productivity.
